This notice provides information regarding the schedule and important guidelines for the Final Examinations of the 2025 Second Semester.
A. Final Examination Period
December 15 (Mon) – December 19 (Fri), 2025 [Refer to Attachment 1]
B. Examination Format
In-person examinations are the default principle.
However, remote (non-face-to-face) examinations or assignment-based evaluations may be permitted only under exceptional circumstances, such as: unavoidable overseas stay of a student, widespread infectious disease among enrolled students, difficulty securing exam rooms due to large enrollment, or course characteristics requiring remote evaluation or assignment submission.
Guidelines for Instructors and Academic Staff
1. Consultation and Notice Regarding Exam Administration
Even if the exam schedule and evaluation format have already been announced in the course syllabus, instructors are advised to provide prior consultation and clear guidance to students to prevent confusion and ensure smooth exam administration.
2. Grade Recognition for Absence (Make-up Grade System)
Students who are unable to take an examination due to illness, military service, or other unavoidable circumstances may apply for grade recognition for absence, based on Article 45(2) of the University Regulations, Articles 69 and 70 of the Academic Operations Regulations.
[Refer to Attachments 2 and 3 for details on eligibility, required documents, application forms, and procedures]
3. Guidelines on the Use of AI
In accordance with the university’s [AI Usage Guidelines], instructors should determine whether AI use will be permitted within their courses by considering both its educational benefits and limitations. This information must be communicated to students and clearly stated in the course syllabus. [Refer to Attachment 4]
4. Evaluation Method
Each course shall be evaluated according to the designated evaluation type (absolute/relative grading) and criteria established for that course. Detailed schedules for grade processing and related matters will be announced separately at the end of the semester.
5. Additional Guidelines for Exam Administration
1) During the exam period, all non-exam classes must be conducted in the originally approved format (in-person or remote). However, in unavoidable cases, such as scheduling conflicts, use of classrooms for exams, or rescheduled sessions, remote classes may be used.
(For make-up classes, even courses originally designed as in-person may be conducted synchronously or asynchronously online.)
2) According to the Higher Education Act and Ministry of Education guidelines, each course must meet the 15-week statutory minimum (30 sessions for twice-a-week courses; 15 sessions for once-a-week courses). Please refer to the regulations on class cancellation and make-up classes.
3) For courses meeting once or twice per week (including consecutive sessions), if an instructor conducts an in-person exam, remote exam, or assignment-based evaluation, that week will count as one completed class session.
4) Instructors must ensure strict exam supervision to prevent academic dishonesty.
If academic misconduct is confirmed, sanctions such as grade denial or disciplinary action may be imposed in accordance with university regulations.
