This notice provides information on the Readmission Screening Process for the 2026 Spring Semester, based on Article 15 of the University Regulations and Articles 17–20 of the Academic Operations Regulations.
1. Application Period
: December 3 (Wed), 2025, 10:00 – December 5 (Fri), 2025, 16:00
* Interview required: Applicants must inquire with their respective department or major office for detailed interview schedules.
2. Eligibility
: Individuals who were dismissed after enrolling at Korea University and completing at least one semester.
* Applicants who do not fall under categories a or b below may apply only after a minimum of two semesters have passed since dismissal.
* Individuals permanently dismissed due to disciplinary action under university regulations are not eligible for readmission.
Eligible categories include:
a. Dismissed due to exceeding the permitted leave of absence period
b. Dismissed due to failure to register
c. Dismissed due to poor academic performance
d. Voluntary withdrawal
3. Restrictions for Abolished Departments (Academic Affairs Committee Decision)
a. Readmission applicants must apply to their original department, but applications to abolished departments are not permitted.
b. If an applicant’s original department has been abolished, they may apply to the designated replacement department by agreeing to the “Declaration of Major Change” (Section 2 of the Readmission Application Form).

4. Required Documents
a. Readmission application documents (attached forms): Readmission Application Form, Explanation for Readmission & Study Plan, Letter of Pledge
b. Academic transcript (can be issued online via the KU Portal)
c. Official transcript of grades
5. Document Submission Location
: Submit all required documents to the department or major office.
6. Interview Schedule
Interviews will be conducted from December 10 (Wed) to December 12 (Fri), 2025, according to each department’s schedule.
7. Announcement of Results
January 16 (Fri), 2026, 17:00 (tentative)
8. Important Notes
a. Readmission is permitted only once per applicant, based on available capacity within the department.
* After the application deadline, if a department does not fill its allotted capacity, the remaining quota may be reassigned to other departments. For this reason, applicants may apply regardless of current quota availability. (Quota information is not disclosed.)
b. Course registration and tuition payment are permitted only for applicants who are approved for readmission. Approved students must complete registration within the official registration period. Failure to register will result in cancellation of admission, and reapplication will not be allowed.
c. Readmitted students must comply with university regulations and the Letter of Pledge.
d. Readmitted students cannot take a general leave of absence during their first semester after readmission.
e. If an applicant’s former department has been abolished, they must sign the “Declaration of Major Change” included in the Readmission Application Form and apply to the newly designated department.
